A plant native to South India and from the same family as ginger, Turmeric has been used as a spice, dye, and as a health remedy. It's been used in both Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for centuries for a variety of health concerns including blood purification and female issues. It also aids digestion because it helps increase bile production and stimulates the protective mucus of the stomach.
